China Care volunteers came across quite a number of children on the mountains with eye problems including short sightedness and lazy eye. These problems are a consequence of poor hygiene, dim studying environment and blatant ignorance. Such problems can be resolved with the prescription of a pair of spectacles. China Care and students from the Department of Optometry and Radiography of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University now make regular excursions to the mountains to visit these children with problematic eyesight. In cases where the problem can be resolved by corrective lenses, such lenses have been provided.
