Tengxian Youth Service Trip November, 2009 (Kiangsu - Chekiang College International Sections)
I was able to talk to plenty of secondary student despite my weak ability to talk in Chinese. They were very enthusiastic in making friends with us that are manage to overcome a language barrier.
(Jeff Li)
I was impressed to visit the primary school. We played different varieties of games and teach the children simple English. This activity bring me a sense of accomplishment & enjoyment, the children remember what I have taught. I gain leadership and improve my mandarin and teaching skills.
(Justin Lam)
The high school impressed me the most because I never expected that the school would be that massive. Nor did I ever expect such a warm welcome from the elite students. Moreover, it was fairly easy to communicate and have a meaningful conservation with them. I really appreciate and thankful for this experience.
(Ivanna Taneda Sze)
The thing was so much different from our school and their school, the students willing to teach from us. I feel that children there are truly the best student I had even seen, the way they listen to you even you are just a high school student and how much they respect you for teaching them. That was perhaps something I found in the small school in that small town.
(Sebastian Cheung)
Playing games with primary school students, singing songs with them, see how simple their life is and they can be very happy all the time.

"I met a kid in the village. His right eye has 20 diopter short-sight leading to amblyopia. If we can meet him early (before seven years old), the amblyopia can be improved."
James (Volunteer of the Youth Formation Team)
"It was Christmas and it was 4 C up in the mountains. I held the hands of a little child and the chill of his little palm really shook me up. It was like a little blade that almost cut through the skin on my hands. I took off my coat and placed it on him. It was only then did I realize what coldness means."
Kimmy (Volunteer of Christimas Visit)
"I came to understand hardship amongst the people I visited in the mountains. But I also learnt contentment. Truly, I am a fortunate person."
Kite (Volunteer)
"The night I returned to Hong Kong, I tossed and turned all night. The image of a student I met in one of the villages kept churning up and sadness overcame me. What is it that I can do to prevent this child, and many others like him, from being kept away from school by virtue of their parents inability to come up with a meager sum to pay his school fee."
Lam Tin Ho (Volunteer of the School Fees Assistance Team)
"Although all the students at Tai Cheun Primary School received assistance from us in respect of their school books, the Tangs told me they could no longer afford the school fees. One of the volunteers in our group overheard and immediately agreed to pay the school fees. Can you imagine how happy I was in seeing this?"
Rebecca (Volunteer of Summer Project)
"In the overwhelming heat of 36 degree, we visited a dilapidated village up in the mountains almost forgotten by human-kind. There were the simplest of facilities at the accommodation provided us. We ate the simplest of food. But there was not a moment of regret. Instead, our hearts were filled with joy. The purity of life freed us from the worries that congested our daily modern city lives. Such is the essence of rel happiness."
Siu Fu (Volunteer of the Youth Formation Team)
"In the few days that I spent with the children on the mountains, I Felt that it was I who gained the most."
Stephanie Tang (Volunteer)
"One of us gotten sick while on the mountains. We all became very concerned. Our superisors ran around for medication when we took turns to stay with our sick colleague all night. Everyone extended a helping hand and this warmed my heart."
